A fun self-paced workshop for Muslim kids 5–12
Halloween Is Notfor You and Me
Help your Muslim child understand why they don’t celebrate Halloween, so they walk past the costumes and candy feeling confident, not confused, and not left out.
A fun and interactive story-based video workshop your child does inside a blocky adventure they’ll want to finish. Start tonight.
“Your Halloween course is the real deal. We have gone through 40% and it has solidified her understanding. She now says point blank we don’t celebrate, and she can articulate why. She is 6.5 years.”
Mama of a 6-year-old
“It gave me a game plan for how to approach my 5-year-old about his growing interest in the mainstream holidays, and I am not stressed out about it.”

Every October it starts again
“Mama, why can’t we do Halloween?”
The pumpkins at the supermarket. The costume parade at school. The neighbour’s kids knocking with their candy bags. And then the questions.
- “Can I go trick-or-treating with my friends?”
- “Can I go to the Halloween school party?”
- “Can I buy a costume?”
- “What is Halloween?”
“Because it’s haram.” “Because we don’t do that.”
Neither one lands with a seven-year-old. A long lecture turns a simple question into a battle, and a “no” with no reason behind it only makes the night look more interesting.
“We don’t celebrate, and here’s why.”
Your child doesn’t need more rules. They need to understand, in a way that makes sense to them, from someone who speaks their language. Then the answer is theirs to keep.
Inside the workshop
It doesn’t feel like a lesson. It feels like a quest.
Your child builds their builder, then steps through fourteen glowing portals in the dark wood. They watch what happens to Zaynah, answer each challenge and collect treasure, and every piece pushes the workshop dragon further away. Clear all fourteen and the final gate opens with their certificate.
What’s inside
The Halloween Workbook
Printed pages your child works in by hand, with an answer key for you.
The workbook carries QR codes to every video, so if you would rather your child wasn’t on a screen at all, you can scan a lesson for them and they work the page by hand.
And when they are on the screen, it isn’t passive viewing. Every lesson asks them to answer, choose and reflect before it moves on.
The cover, two lesson pages and one activity, straight from the book.
The journey, level by level
Fourteen short lessons, three worlds
Your child follows Zaynah, a curious girl with big questions about Halloween. Every lesson ends with a quiz or check-in, and kids earn points, prizes and a certificate of completion, so they want to finish.
Where it came from
- Where Halloween comes from, and why it matters to a Muslim
- The history, told as a story a child can follow
Teacher recap
- We learn the thing: costumes, trick-or-treat, jack-o’-lanterns, pranks
- Then Ms. Eman recaps it and applies it for children, in words they hold onto
Their own thinking
- Your child checks their understanding with a quiz
- Certificate of completion
Ask Ms. Eman
An answer, just for them
Your child can ask me any question inside the workshop, and I’ll answer them personally with a custom video reply.
No question is too small or too tricky. No AI, no canned reply. Me, on camera, talking to your child. Questions answered until 7 November.
Plus Why Pumpkins Are Cool in Islam: the story of Prophet Yunus, so autumn still feels like theirs.

Which mama are you?
This is for you if…
You just need the words.
You don’t want to lecture. Let your child hear it from a teacher who makes it click, then simply nod along.
And you’re not sure what to say.
No judgement here. We look at where Halloween comes from, together, and let the history speak for itself. You’ll learn right alongside your child.
Costume day is coming.
Your child will walk in knowing their why, and you’ll have a ready-made letter to send their teacher.
This is your done-for-you October unit.
Video lessons, workbook, answer key, activity booklet, glossaries and quizzes. Press play and pour the tea.
“Everyone else is doing it!”
This workshop doesn’t shame or scare. It validates how they feel, then helps them reach the answer themselves. A “no” they understand is a “no” they keep.
Thinking “but what if…”
What if I can just explain it myself?
You can.
And the Parent’s Guide helps you do it well. But kids often listen differently to a teacher and a story, in addition to a parent. This gives you a shared language.
What if saying no makes it the forbidden fruit?
Not here.
That happens when the “no” has no reason behind it. Your child learns the history and draws their own conclusion. Understanding takes away the pull.
What if my child still feels left out?
That feeling is valid.
The workshop says so. Kids reflect on it honestly, then you get a list of fun alternatives so 31 October still feels special.
What if it’s scary or judgmental?
It isn’t.
There is no shaming of other families. The tone is warm, gentle and full of fun.
What if I’m cutting down screen time?
Good.
The videos are short and interactive, so this isn’t passive viewing, and if you prefer, there is a workbook you can use as well.
What if my child is 5? Or 12?
Both work.
Little ones can watch with you; older kids work through it on their own. One price covers every child in your family.
One price, your whole family, free updates years to come
Every child can watch, do the workbooks and earn their own certificate. Less than a family night out, for a conversation your children will carry for years.

Yes, my child needs this:“My daughter was watching a bunch of Halloween content on TV and asked why we don’t celebrate anything fun. I was struggling to come up with an answer… I saw my shy 4-year-old interact with Eman on Zoom, listen attentively and answer questions. I was pleasantly surprised.”
Asma S.

“She loves it so much. She keeps asking ‘Mommy can we do more activities about why we don’t celebrate Halloween.’ I tried to look for some other workbooks online but there are none, so I guess we will just review this one when she asks for it.”
Mama · replied to a story

“Your Valentine’s module is excellent and it really helped the kids and me work through why we don’t celebrate the holiday. Alhamdulillah, it gave us a good foundation to have the conversation!”
Khadija A.
“My son and I just watched your Christmas workshop (because he asked for it) and HE CHOSE to binge the whole thing today! He enjoyed the content and the questions with the points! He wanted to watch another workshop but I had to put the brakes on.”

Why trust me
Assalamu alaikum,
I’m Eman Ahmed
Founder of The Good Child Academy, mom of five, all 13 and under.
I hold a BASc (Honours) in Child Studies and Early Education. For more than a decade I worked with children and families as a teacher, early interventionist, resource consultant and early years program supervisor. Today I’m raising and home educating my own children, and I’ve supported 900+ families around the globe with identity parenting rooted in the Quran and Sunnah.
I’m the mainstream holidays parent educator families come to at this time of year, and I’ve been doing this work for many years. I started with my own children when they were 4 and 5. Those same children are now 13 and 12, and every year they tell me Halloween is not for you and me. They stay confidently at bay when the holidays come around, because they were educated about the why. They weren’t simply told “it’s haram” or “Muslims don’t do that.” Today I see how that early work paid off, by the grace of Allah ﷻ.
That’s why this workshop doesn’t just tell your child “no.” Every lesson is built around how children think and learn at their age, grounded in what Allah and His Messenger ﷺ teach us.

Enrolment closes on 31 October, so families can use it while it matters most. Everything below lands in your workshop for free, whenever it ships.
Still deciding?
Here’s the honest answer
“Can’t I just ask AI for a script?”
You can get words from AI. You can’t get me. AI gives one answer for every child.
This workshop is built on child development, rooted in the Quran and Sunnah, and taught by me directly to your child. I hold a degree in Child Studies and Early Education, I’m a mom of five, and I’ve supported 900+ Muslim families with exactly these conversations. Your child doesn’t just hear an answer. They’re taught, step by step, by someone who knows how they think. And when they have a question, they can ask me and I’ll answer them by video.
“Won’t saying no make Halloween the forbidden fruit?”
That happens when the “no” has no reason behind it. Here, your child learns the history and draws their own conclusion. Understanding takes away the pull.
This has been my experience over the past 5 years. Some of the children who took this workshop are the ones telling their friends why they shouldn’t celebrate either, alhamdulillah.
“My child will still feel left out.”
That feeling is valid, and the workshop says so. Kids reflect on it honestly, then you get a list of fun alternatives so 31 October still feels special.
“Is it scary or judgmental?”
There is no shaming of other families. The tone is warm, gentle and full of fun, and there are no scary images.
“What age is it for?”
Primary-age kids, roughly 5 to 12. Little ones can watch with you; older kids can work through it on their own. One price covers every child in your family, and each one earns their own certificate.
“How much time does it take?”
The lessons are short. Do it in one cosy afternoon or spread it across a week. You keep lifetime access, so you can come back every October.
“I’m trying to cut down screen time.”
The videos are short and interactive, so this isn’t passive viewing, and if you prefer, there is a workbook you can use as well.
“Is it worth it?”
You get a full, fun workshop, printables, a parent guide with scripts, a school letter, and custom answers from me to your child if they ask a question. And next year, when the questions come back, it’s still here, with all future iterations and updates for free.
“What about refunds?”
Because you get instant access to every video and downloadable resource, all sales are final and no refunds will be offered. I’d rather say that plainly here than bury it in a terms page.
If anything isn’t working or you have a question, email team@thegoodchild.org and we’ll help within 24 hours, inshaAllah.
